The candidate cities of the Green Thinker Award 2010 will be divided into the following categories. The winner of the award will be chosen out of the winners of these categories.

Established capital

Firmly positioned at the top of the national hierarchy with diverse economic base.

Re-invented capital

Champions of transition, engines of economic activity.

Knowledge hub

Key players in the global economy, at the forefront of international industry, business and financial services.

Transformation pole

Strong industrial past, but on way to develop new economic activities.

Handling large flows of persons from national or international origin with a tourism service sector.
