Criteria for the contenders


T HE RESEARCH PROGRAMME OF THE GREEN THINKER AWARD consists of two parts: independent desk research by the PropertyEU team and a questionnaire which has been sent out to the 53 contenders for the Green Thinker Award. The number of contenders has been reduced to a shortlist of 14 companies which was presented to the jury at the end of August. The 14 nominees are:

  5. ING Real Estate
  6. Land Securities
  7. Metro
  8. Multi Corporation
  9. OVG
  10. Pirelli Real Estate
  11. Prologis

  13. Sonae Sierra
  14. Unibail Rodamco

The selection of the 53 contenders is based on PropertyEU’s ranking of top 100 real estate developers in Europe. Eligibility is determined by size/turnover and whether or not the company is active in at least one other European country outside its home market. A questionnaire was sent out to the 53 contenders in July 2008. Candidates are also required to produce an essay of 1,000 words by the company’s CEO outlining his or her vision for sustainable development in Europe.
